Pretty funny spy spoof with Melissa McCarthy as cat lady back room CIA worker forced to step up and rediscover her inner badass to foil villainous Rose Byrne. It's a fun romp, Jason Statham is entertaining, Miranda Hart plays her UK TV character type, Rose Byrne is great!
I enjoyed slightly ditsy McCarthy much more than her return to the obnoxious, foul-mouthed over-confident character we know from Bridesmaids, Tammy, The Heat and more. I was a big Gilmore Girls fan, where McCarthy was a much gentler character (although actually kind of irritating at times!) Seems like they couldn't resist turning her back into the tried and tested funny, crude character from those other films.
Good fun, but not quite as funny as I expected.
